Solution — coffee & retrofitting an existing machine

The payment terminal becomes the module

Office coffee machines, vending machines, other makers' fridges — anything with an MDB socket

Hundreds of machines from different makers, already installed, each with its own "black box" payment terminal that takes the money and says nothing. No way to fit a box inside; no way to replace them.

An illustration: the Distrib and Pay facets, applied to a coffee machine that is already installed. The facets are the same whatever the machine — the screens shown here are the product's own.

What we sell

We do not touch the machine — we replace its terminal. The Android payment terminal — a SoftPOS terminal, for example PAX or Ciontek — carries our application: it becomes a device of the fleet, like a Pi.

It takes the payment (card, contactless, badge over NFC) — that is its job
It talks to the machine over the MDB bus: it authorises the drink, knows what was served, reads the counters and the faults
It reports to the cloud: every sale, every consumable, every fault lands in Octopoda — live sales, catalogue and prices published, alerts, VAT reports
It is managed like a device: configuration from the console, updates, monitoring, kill switch
The same "recipe machine" model as the drinks bar: a menu of drinks and extras, consumables that grey out the menu

What clients remember

Their existing fleet becomes a connected fleet for the price of a terminal swap, in a single visit, with no added electronics — and the terminal stays the one from their usual bank acquirer.
